Adrenaline Rush
Breaking news came as it usually does, when I’m expecting to get a lot done toward my story list, but this time it was something out of the ordinary for East Hampton. A 28-year-old EMS worker allegedly fired off a shot gun in his home and fled, driving around East Hampton putting police and schools on high alert. With help from my fellow reporter and editor, we were able to break the news first and provide a good picture of what was happening as it unfolded. Cyril
This is Cyril. He runs a local bar and restaurant near Montauk. In the middle of a legal battle between the town government and Cyril’s landowners, he was told his liquor license was going to be taken away (it eventually was postponed). I had the pleasure of finding him and taking his photograph. I had never met the famous Cyril before. His restaurant is somewhat legend among people who frequent Montauk every summer. Everyone wants a BBC (Bailey’s Banana Colada) and a picture with Cyril. And no wonder. When I came upon this specimen, he was sitting in the back of his restaurant at a table covered in papers and books.…

Making It Official
This is my statement of intent. While I may miss a week or two due to a busy work schedule, I fully intend to write in this blog regularly. This is a commitment to myself, my craft, and my love of writing and sharing what I experience with my friends, family and complete strangers. I promise that I’ll make it interesting.
